Simon Wilks
Simon brings over 20 years of software development and engineering management experience along with a passion “for all things that fly” into one.
In 2009 he started experimenting with drones for the first time and eventually turned the hobby into a full time job with the founding of UAVenture in Switzerland. UAVenture was at the forfront of commercial drone wave, bringing the experience gained from being a core developer on PX4 and over 7 years as an Engineering Manager at Google, to bring a customised flight control system to what has now become one of the most successful types of commercial drone in the surveying and delivery sector: Hybrid VTOL drones. UAVenture helped bring some of the leading commercial drone manufacturers to market and beyond, including ALTI UAS and Wingcopter.
During his time at UAVenture, Simon initiated and co-founded a new drone delivery company in Ecuador, Aerialoop, a drone delivery airline. Aerialoop is mastering the middle mile drone delivery sector and has been operating in several South American countries after receiving multi-million dollar pre-seed funding.
Since January, 2023, Simon has returned to his home country, Australia, and setup base in Townsville, Queensland and started Navronics Pty Limited. He continues to be involved in the drone space and is actively involved in continuing development of various technologies for Aerialoop and provides consulting services to other companies assisting in their development of drone and other autonomous products.
Veronika Wilks
Veronika brings 10 years experience in training professionals and trainers in Switzerland. She continues to work for her previous employer, Lernwerkstatt Olten GmbH in Switzerland, providing training remote training services and supporting the company in planning and daily business.
